What a fantastic this battle of the atlantic proved to be. Ian got the Irish off to a good start with another fine right footed finish. Ireland went to a two goal lead courtesy of a venomous drive from James. The USA were not overwhelmed by this though and quickly clawed a goal back just three seconds after leaving the score 2-1 after just one and a half minutes.
USA then had a period in which they controlled the game and reaped the rewrds to take a 5-2 lead. The Irish teams spirit is one of their best qualities though and this showed as they reduced the deficit before half time with the 1st half finishing 6-4 to the USA.

Ierland began the second half as they finished the last and the impressive David who always seems to pick the best option certainly did this time in deciding to shoot beyond the helpless USA keeper. Ireland then square it at 6-6 with a great finish from Roy. Ireland then went 7-6 only for the USA to equalise then take the lead setting it up for Ian to get a hatrick and equaliser in the last ten seconds.
Wonderful entertainment, there had to be a winner and it was Ireland 1-0 on sudden death penalities.
