A superb performance from the Total Football Orangemen masterclass here aty pitch 2. They made a rapid start to have a two nil lead before 1 minute had elapsed. They soon made it 5-0 with the impressive no.9, he of the highlighted and spiked haircut, running riot in the Irish defence.Ireland then gave themselves hope with the first goal of the game from Ian Fitzgerald. Their hope was turning into expectation by the time Ian had struck a hatrick to make it 6-3 though the concerted effort to pull themselves back to that point looked to have taken it's toll as the Netherlands added three late goals to enjoy a result that looks somewhat more one-sided than the battle between the teams that unfolded.
