Hong Kong (7) v (7)* Hungary
By Eleni PsaltisHungary won in penalty shoot out against Hong Kong after a tight and relentless match that failed to distinguish a winner and a loser.
The two sides battled it out at the Yarra pitch for seventh and eighth positions in the Melbourne City Cup competition.
Hong Kong's Chi Keung Cheung scored an early goal with a deflection off his knee at the edge of the goalkeeper's area.
But Hungary quickly responded with three goals.
Hungary's Mate Bari then scored with a cheeky outside left foot shot from the right wing.
A substitution for Hong Kong brought Wing Ki Chan into play - instantly delivering terrific opportunities for players down the wings.
'Ki' on several occasions endured agricultural tackles in the left attacking corner.
But this did not phase 'Ki' - scoring a second for Hong Kong and narrowing the gap to a 3-goal buffer at half time.
In the second half Hungary lost its appetite for the ball - giving posession to Hong Kong.
Hong Kong seized on the moment - equalising 5-5.
Seconds later they scored their sixth but Hungary fought back with a long range finish.
But Hong Kong refused to give the ball away cheaply - scoring their seventh.
With just 20 seconds to go, Hungary's Bella G Kiss dribbled the ball down the right. He almost looked to take the shot himself but generously tapped it to
Bari who finished it off.
Kiss's unselfishness saved Hungary from defeat.
It went into sudden-death a penalty shoot out with Hungary stealing seventh position.
