Greece (5) v (10) Romania
By Fiona CrawfordSECOND-placed Romania looked to leapfrog Greece in a Group H top-of-the-table clash played out in baking Melbourne heat today.
Romania signalled their winning intent early with three quick goals before being penalised for not having a player in their attacking half at all times. Vasileois Bourgazas stepped up to take the penalty and confidently slotted the ball past the keeper to put Greece on the board.
Romania replied with another two fast goals and went into half-time 5-1 up.
The Greeks were far from down and out though, and even found the energy to do the Zorba before their cheering fans at half-time.
Despite three great goals by Greece in the second half, Romania piled on another five.
Romania now leads Group H.
