Fundraising Tips
Whilst you are out there hatching your fundraising plan here are a few fundraising tips to get the money flowing in.
1. Set your sponsorship target - aim high!
2. Seek help from your friends - network, friends of friends - you will collect more than you thought possible, but you need to work at it. Why not ask family and friends to collect on your behalf – If you have 10 people with a target of collecting £20 per person, you'll soon have £200.
3. Perhaps your five-a-side football team or yoga class can help. Ask friends to make a donation to join in.
4. Write to local companies, explain the challenge you have set yourself, and request a donation
5. Approach your local newspaper or radio station for publicity. Ask them to include contact details in case readers or listeners wish to sponsor you.
6. Ask your sponsors to Gift Aid it – this means the Homeless World Cup receives an extra £28 for every £100 you raise, for free.
7. Think about organising small events, a coffee morning, disco, jumble sale or a car boot sale - whatever you feel comfortable with. The only limit is your imagination
8. Start your sponsorship early - well in advance of the event. Do bucket collections round the local pubs and clubs (get permission from the owners first).
9. Ask your employer to match your funds raised £ for £.
