Finland (2) v (3) India

Finland (2) v (3) India

INDIA and Finland took to the court for an exciting game between two closely matched teams which resulted in India winning by one point leaving the scores at 3-2.

The Indians were given a few early chances with penalties due to Finland's players being off side and the goal keeper stepping out of his boundary, but unfortunately the penalties did not work in their favour as they were quickly taken back by Finland's defence.

Finland's players pushed hard on their attack allowing for many attempts at goal and eventually Hirvasvuopio scored the first goal of the match.

Short sharp shots from both sides meant that there was a lot of postulating by both sides around the goal areas and a lot of back and forth playing between the teams keeping both goalkeepers very busy.

The Indian goalkeeper warmed up early with some beautiful saves to keep the scores at a minimum before India began to turn the game.

Finland's strong attack forced India into a hard defence and although the Finns put pressure in attempting to get another goal, India matched this and moved their pressure backwards making it near impossible to get an open shot at goals.

Finland put good pressure on India but India counter attacked and began to see the rewards of their constant efforts with Depak scoring his first goal out of three for the game.

The defence and attack of both sides were so strong which kept the crowd in anticipation of the next goal.

Overall India proved to be the stronger team in one of the tightest matches seen played out on Federation Square today.
