IN THE opening match of the final day of competition at the 2008 Homeless World Cup, the Czech Republic has beaten Sierra Leone 2-1 on penalties

With the scores locked at 4-4 after full time, a penalty shoot out was required to determine the 3rd and 4th position in The Community Cup.

Both sides started tentatively in the morning sun, both the keepers weren't troubled within the first three minutes.

Petr Jech was the player to pull the Czech Republic ahead, collecting the ball on half way he was able to find space to take a shot from the sideline, beating the goalkeeper at the far post.

The first half was characterised by a lack of attack by the Sierra Leone side, tight marking by the Czech Republic shut down any threats.

The Czech Republic were able to score another goal in the last minute of the half and take a two goal lead into the break, after Martin Zejglic's shot whisked past the goal face and sat up nicely for Jan Jasukevic to finish easily.

Zelglic and Jasukevic combined again early in the second half to stretch the lead to three goals after a one-two combination split the Sierra Leone defence.

The match turned around after the third goal to the Czechs, with Sierra Leone socring two goals in as many minutes, bringing them right back into the match.

Ahmed Barrie opened the scoring for his team with a great individual goal coming from a shot on the half way lone that had too much venom for the goalkeeper. Barrie's fellow countryman, Mahmoud Bah then found space at the top of the goalkeepers circle to score.

In what seemed to be a match winner at the time, Jasukevic scored his third goal of the day with a curling shot from halfway.

It was only two quick goals to Sierra Leone that forced the match to Penalties, both coming through Bah.

The penalty shoot out required 6 shots between the two teams to find a winner but Petr Jech was able to keep his composure and convert his kick after the previous penalty for Sierra Leone was put wide.

The win for the Czech Republic places them in 3rd position for The Community Cup and Sierra Leone walk away with 4th.
