Chile startled its rivals by scoring its first goal in the first 20 seconds of the game. The South Americans displayed verve and energy, second only to its dancing, cheering and singing fans. It went on scoring four more times in the first half, leaving the Swiss team looking dispirited.In spite of the constant berating of its coach or perhaps because of it, Switzerland managed to score a goal in the second part of the game, showing more confidence. The Swiss players came across as more hopeful and missed no chance to score, coming very close to scoring again on two occasions. it was not to be.
Hailed by their fans, Chile emerged victorious.
