Cameroon claimed seventh position after defeating Australia 2-1 in the Womens Finals Stage.
Miki Kobayashi in goal performed several outstanding saves in the first half - ensuring a drought in goals right until the seventh minute.
The Street Matildas’ Tanya Neal - known as ''The Stretch' for her petite build, was a strong force to be reckoned with in defence.
Kobayashi and The Stretch constantly intercepted oncoming attacks through their tight passes and strong communication.
Cameroon's Alliance Chouamou broke the deadlock exactly on the seventh minutewith a long range shot from the right.
In the second half both sides began to take more risks - shooting from the midfield and forcing both goalkeepers to take stunning saves.
Tony Whelan dribbled the ball past two of Cameroon's players but just as she was about to take the shot, graciously passed across goals to Sharee Daly.
Daly brought the crowd into the game with her powerful kick that just narrowly missed the cross bar.
The stadium erupted into more cheers as the girls continued on the attack.
The Street Matildas had a lucky break when Marinette Afan Afan took a save outside the goalkeeper's area.
Daly lived up to her nickname - The Gun - taking a powerful penalty shot into the far left corner.
The Street Matildas continued to waltz in the attacking half taking two more brilliant shots on target.
But time ran out for the Australians - finishing in eighth place.
