Brazil v France

Brazil (5) v France (7)

Determined attackers and a swift goalkeeper did the trick for France in the first half of the match, which ended with France having scored four goals. Brazil, one of the few teams with women players, only managed one.

Come the second half, however, it was Brazil which dominated the game. Gone were the ladies, but their determination to help Brazil get back into the game was matched by their replacements.

Brazil managed to score three times in quick succession and once later but France proved more than a match, ultimately winning the contest.

Talent, good sport and  determination were the names of the game, which also  featured a good dose of drama including clashes of knees between the contestants and the expulsion of a Brazilian player.
