The crowd was yet again up for a tightly played match at pitch 1. Throughout the whole match neither of the teams did at any time lead with more than one goal. The Austrian number 4 passed the American keeper first, taking excellent use of the barrier in use to get a free shot, however soon after USA leveled the score on penalty. After a longer scoring pause, with great attacking game and even better play by both goal keepers, Austria netted for the half time score 2 to 1.
With two quick goals the American fought back and took the lead in second half, stepping up their game. The last couple of minutes Austria became more offensive, managing to score in the absolute last second and equal the score to 3 to 3.Both goalkeepers took a lead role in the penalty shootout, as they pulled off brilliant saves. However when the Austrian player number 9 crossed his chest before his penalty shoot, there was not much for the American keeper to do. Austria is through to the finals tomorrow morning.
