Austria took on Namibia in the final game of the second day of action at the 2008 Homeless World Cup in a tense struggle which ended in an 8-5 win for Austria.

Namibia took control early with two goals thanks to brilliant footwork from their forward player.

The Austrian’s created good opportunities for attack but the Namibian defence held strong until Austria finally broke through for their first with only 10 seconds remaining in the first half.  The half time whistle blew with the scoreboard standing at 3-1.

Austria scored early in the second half and Namibia replied immediately to bring the tally to 4-2.

The Austrians fought back with the help of their talented forward, who leveled the game with two impressive strikes.

The Europeans then took the lead through an opportunistic goal, but the game was brought back to 5-5 after great Namibian passing.

An unlucky deflection off the Namibian goalkeeper resulted in Austria taking the lead again.

The Austrians began to gain momentum adding another two goals, making the final result 8-5, an impressive come from behind victory.
