Argentina v England
Argentina (2) v England (15)
England showed a determination, quickness and good co-ordination all through a match, which promised breathtaking suspense but become increasingly one-sided and boring as England took on its South American adversary.
The English team started with four goals in the first part of the match leaving Argentina no opportunity for a catch up except for one single goal. There was no "hand of God" episode here, nor a much contested exclusion of any English players, like the one experienced by David Beckham in 1998. England played to win and by a comfortable margin too.
England's victory became increasingly evident in the second part, as the team scored 11 more times, leaving Argentina playing in a more and more confused and demoralized way. In spite of its disorganization, Argentina managed to score once more.
A clash of unequals but all in all good football.
